Btw, was the volume as broadcast (FM) at the beginning of the oboe quartet really so low that I had to reach to the volume knob on my radio?

I was in the hall, and the start of the phantasy quartet was certainly quiet but not, I'd have thought, so much so as to need adjustment. Perhaps the techies were caught out. Beyond that, a well-thought-out and finely executed concert; in particular, the Bridge quintet got the sort of passionate performance it needs.

Fauré? Cesar Franck? Augusta Holmès? I'll have to hit the CD collection when I get home; meanwhile, all suggestions welcome!

A remarkable performance!
