No problem here, jean - hope everything sorts itself out for you soon.

Problems of very brief drop-outs again on the iPlayer Listen Again service for Radio 3. Last night's Hear and Now is littered with them. At first I thought it might be a problem with the Beeb's master recording of the music included. However, I also saved the DAB mp2 as a backup. The problem is not found there. I will write to the Hear and Now team and ask then if they can chase the problem up with the iPlayer team. It is probably more widespread than just the Hear and Now programme but that's the one I have listened to with great care, noting the timing of 5 specific incidents in the first movement of Howard Skempton's Piano Concerto alone (at approximately 1'05", 1' 12", 1'37", 1'51" and 1'57" from the start). None of these glitches are to be found in the DAB mp2. I did not record the FM version.

Problem now resolved. The file originally made available in the early hours has now been replaced by an edit sans glitches/drop-outs.

Yet again I have found a profusion of very brief hiatuses in new material on the iPlayer Listen Again facility. This time it was yesterday's edition of Composer of the week. When I first accessed it, early yesterday evening, it was riddled with these very brief silences. Today a new version has appeared, shorn of excess baggage preceding and following prorammes. This new file is free from hiatuses. So, it would appear that it is best to leave it a day or so after broadcast before attempting to listen to a programme via the iPlayer listen again option.

This is still happening, so thought it worth posting a reminder.
