Not a fault report, as such, but I note that in the past week or so, the sample rate used for the HD Sound stream has been changed from 44.1kHz to 48kHz, thus bringing it into line with the sample rate used for most DAB and other digital broadcast streams. Might make a few dogs prick up their ears, I suppose.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05vh237 Tonight's "Live in Concert" from the London Baroque Festival at Smith Square, the OAE playing Vivaldi. The end of the concert is missing from the iplayer. I have submitted a fault report. If anyone else would care to submit a fault report this might assist in getting this rectified. This was a marvellous concert (which I attended!) and it is a great shame and disappointment for the end to be missing.

It would help if you could link to the fault report webpage.

I've just spent a little while trying to unpeel the layers of distraction and diversion, going around the links to anything but the actual fault report, which would involve a human being at the other end reading a message from their paying public.

Here's the link, https://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/tv/forms , but don;t think for one moment that your unpeeling, etc. is over. Working your way through the contact convolutions is a bit of a pain. At the end of the process, don't get further diverted bu their entreaty to view the F.A.Q. list. If you do, you will have to start your contact journey from the start again.

Now that I check, it has since been fixed. The full concert is there.

Thanks Bryn. I'm practiced enough to avoid the temptation of the diversions, its spotting the avenue to make the real complaint/request form which is difficult to find (I searched "fault report" for example, and had the joy of finding archived pages, etc).
And I took the survey (usually refuse) to impart the view they don't need all those details for that simple fault, and its all designed to deter the reporting, or perhaps a more benevolent view - to ensure maximum convenience for the BBC, once I've managed to submit the report..

Serious problem with the "Fiddler on the Roof" Prom on the iplayer. The first part says it's 3 hours 30 minutes long, but in fact is only 1 hour 20 minutes, which does not even cover the whole first half. The end of the first half is missing. When I get a moment I shall fill in a fault report, and it might be helpful if others could do the same.

                  Now sorted, it would appear.

Catching up due to holiday absence, I've come across programmes on Radio 4Extra being unavailable much earlier than 30 days ago. I've reported it, and got this reply

We’re sorry some of our radio programmes have expired earlier than expected.

We wanted to get in touch to let you know that we have taken appropriate action to prevent further programmes being affected by this fault. We are also working to restore the affected programmes as quickly as we can.

(Also, it seems to have affected Radio 3 too, e.g Sat 15 Aug 2015 CD review "will be available soon").

I thought I'd post a note on how to report faults, or a complaint, on the iPlayer "Help" pages. The more reports and / or complaints are logged, the more the pressure on the BBC to ensure the service runs as they (so proudly, hundreds of times per day) continually announce as being available for their listeners.

                      On this page: http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/tv/

"Search by Device" ("Computer" - or "Mobile", "Tablet" etc)
"Search by platform" ("Chrome" - or "Android", "iOs" etc)
                      Click on the "HELP" box
At the bottom of the list of search topics - click "See More"
Look for & click "Programmes – How to report a problem"
Look for & Click "Contact Us"
Having refused all invitations to look at the formulaic text to avert your report/complaint, you can now fill in the drop down menus. They're actually not all that time consuming, and I cut and paste the details from a template I keep (plus the specific programme details) into one of the free text boxes lower down and then back into the other boxes higher up (your email address, for the feedback) the url for the program, the title, date, etc, and including the problem ("Not available although 30 days have not yet passed").

The problems I reported on Friday afternoon had been rectified 24 hours later (e.g. R4 "Jefffrey Bernard is unwell"15/08/15).

Yesterday’s (Sunday 20) programmes seem to be all (I have tried three) unavailable / error. Is it just me or is this their problem?

I've just tried a few of the R3 programmes. They do show up as available (the iPlayer logo on photos on the 1 day schedule listing). 2 of the 3 were slow/I had to retry but they did start to play. Perhaps the IT at the BBC end is under strain at the moment. .

I’ve just tried, too and yes, it’s back. Thanks!

iPlayer 'Listen Again' very much on the blink at the moment. Last night's Hear and Now first appeared only in 128kbps aac encoding. By 9.00 this morning it was up to 320kbps. However, since then there has been much disruption. Last night's TtN is currently at just 128kbps and for a while was not playing at all. Let's hope it is just a temporary problem that will be fixed come the morrow.
