On a slightly different note. I can't seem to find how to listen to radio on iPlayer through my Smart TV. All i get is TV iPlayer. I have tried typing in 'radio' in search box but to no avail. Can any board member help?

Orphical, I think this is due to a policy decision by the BBC - heaven knows why.

The BBC statement on Feedback was:

"We're sorry to listeners who've been disappointed by the change that we made to remove support for catchup radio programmes from connected televisions. This was the result of a combination of some major changes which we're making to our infrastructure, which meant continuing the existing service was not possible without significant work, and the fact that usage of the service was very low, so it was not appropriate to prioritise that effort above other demands on connected TV development. We're currently rethinking the way that we bring radio to connected televisions and we that hope we'll be in a position to bring catchup radio back to TV in the future."

iPlayer live seems to be working now. This morning I listened to most of CD Review via internet radio.

Listen Again hasn't been updated - the little logo is absent from the schedules page though TTN is actually available. As I write this, CD Review isn't available yet.

It's available now - however, BBC R3 website pages seem to take an age to load. Friday's Aon3 doesn't seem to be available. Edit: I spoke too soon - the Lunchtime Concert is there now, but it is not available. If you see what I mean.

There seems to be some ongoing problem..... and as usual the BBC does not keep one informed about what is not going on.

PS R4 and R4E seem similarly afflicted though there's more available on R4. I'll have to resort to the Baygen Mk 1 wind-up at this rate.

                  STOP PRESS:

"Due to technical problems, we are displaying a simplified version of the BBC Homepage. We are working to restore normal service."

As far as Radio 3 is concerned, the only thing that seems to be available since yesterday morning is the First Night of the Proms. All else is either shown as not currently available, "Silent", or Error 500.

Since this Telegraph item, things have got worse. The main BBC iPlayer URL gives a 500 error.

Can't seem to get anything on listen again, not even last nights prom.

For such a key part of such a huge outfit, it really is a poorly run service.

the BBC weather seems to be down also, which is more unusual.

The BBC homepage is down, too.

This is a wonderful example of the sort of statement made when there's snafu around:

"We're aware of an issue which means some people can't access certain parts of BBC Online. We're working hard to fix this as soon as possible."

Whoever wrote that deserves some of prize. What it should be and how it ought to be inserted is still to be decided.

Up to a point I agree. It would be much better in more direct speech - "We know there's a problem and were trying to fix it as quickly as we can" - but how much extra worth would that be?

It was the hint that the current problems affect only some people which I find misleading in its doublespeak.
