    Early generation iPad problems

My 1st generation iPad often has dropouts back to the Home Page, which for a long while I thought might be due to hardware. The poor beastie hasn't always been handled gently and has survived a few near disastous falls.

This morning I tried to show Mrs d2*(k+1) how to download some podcasts via iTunes using her iPad, and it also had the same problems. I now suspect that hardware is not the issue, but rather dodgy software. Mine runs IOS 5.1.1, the other is probably still on an earlier version, as Apple "managed" to lose all my files in the upgrade to IOS 5 (thanks a lot ....), so I think the other iPad is still with an earlier version.

I have a love/hate relationship, with Apple products and software, which is at least different from other software, e.g Windows and even Linux. My relationship, with Windows is mostly hate, and not much love. Some other people have more of a hate relationship with Apple, and in some cases justifiably so.

Since I installed iOS 7 on my iPad2, I've been getting frequent wi-fi dropouts, something that never happened previously. I notice a lot of iPad/iPhone users have been similar problems.

I may have to go to see a 'Genius' soon to see if anything can be done. :(
