It is claimed that there are compatible and newer programs, but I personally don't believe this to be the case. There are indeed newer programs, but compatibility is not by any means perfect, nor is the user interface so easy to use. I think it is a shame that Apple binned these programs, in particular the drawing program, as after I initially struggled to get to grips with it, I gradually found that it does certain drawing tasks much better than most of the simpler or more complex competitor products.
You could PM me if you have a small number of non-personal files to open, and I might be able to convert them to a format you can read. If you really need to work with the files, I might still be able to help.
