    SKY+ HD Box query

Does anyone know if the HD recordings I have made on a SKY HD can be saved to a computer?
If I make a DVD of them they come out as ordinary and not HD.

I have no idea how you would do that. It may be possible, but I doubt it. You might try going to the Sky technical/help forums- via the Sky TV homepage- and posting this question there. Good luck!

Incidentally, and slightly related, I see that the new Sky+ HD box has built in Wi-Fi.

Google for "HDMI computer interface" or something along these lines. Lots of info there.

Remember though that there may very well be copyright and encryption issues.

(DVDs cannot be used to store HD images. Blu ray is the disc medium used for that.)

If the box has a USB socket for an external disk, you may well be able to save to that as HD. If so, it will probably be encrypted so that it will only replay through your Sky box. There are a few TVs around that allow recording but have no internal disk - and then the encrypted files can only be replayed through that specific TV.

I have one of those a Panasonic which records to an external 1 don't mind keeping them on the Sky box, but it is small.
Can one enlarge the HD capacity of a sky box?

I would doubt it. You'd be limited by the size of the HD installed in the box. I have the Virgin equivalent, and I know it can't be done there.

There is the 1.5 TB box available as an upgrade, which can hold up to 350 hours of HD recordings, or over 1,000 hours in SD:-
