    Cambridge Audio Minx Air 100/200

These have been getting rave reviews:

    Minx Air 100: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Air-100-Wire...ambridge+audio

    Minx Air 200: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Air-200-Wire...m_sbs_recspk_1

Sometimes I'm tempted by such a piece of audio kit. Paired with a top-quality Qobuz subscription (inc. studio masters) and a fast fibre optic download connection, this would put a lot of great music at one's fingertips in agreeable audio quality for very little dough.

Has anyone here tried one out?

They look like expensive boom boxes. May not actually be bad value, but presumably don't do proper stereo. Some people might like them. Using wireless streaming into a suitable DAC and amp, and then to (at least) stereo speakers is not a bad idea though. I'm not sure if it's yet reasonably feasible to do high quality multi-channel surround sound this way.

Lastly, although the reviews on the amazon site seemed good, I'm not sure that Bluetooth is actually up to high quality audio - though it may depend on the version.

They get good reviews in audio media too, e.g. What Hifi Sound and Vision. Might be worth trying a few of these types of sites along with Cambridge Audio's own site to see what people have been saying. I never take any notice of Amazon reviews as far too many are poor with, say, one person having a bad experience with a product and telling everyone else not to buy it or others giving a five-star rating for Amazon's mailing service and having no relevance to the product in question.
