    Ungoogling

Is there an easy way to get the "real" URL of a site after a search, for example in google? This would hopefully avoid future links to that site having to go via google. Most sites can be done, but how easy this is may depend on the machine used. For example, using an iPad, it's rather hard to get the URL of a targeted YouTube video. I sometimes have to go to another machine to tidy things like this up.

Too many of us are now using searches through google, when if we simply used the URL there'd be no need to do that.

I prefer Yahoo. It seems to find the sites I require more efficiently.

If you want to find the URL of a YouTube video on an iPad, press on the 'share' icon and select 'copy link'. That will copy the URL to the clipboard.

Agreed, but it's not quite so easy via an iPad I think. It goes into the YouTube App, then you have to stop the video and maybe your procedure will work then
