There was I singing its praises, but today any album selected for playback is omitting random tracks (eg Trifonov's Destination Rachmaninov starts with the slow movement and omits both outer movements. Not a happy subscriber!
Well on Audirvana+ 3.2.12 running Qobuz Studio this PM I had Couperin's Les Nations (LTL/Rousset) running smoothly....
Just checking now: the Destination Rachmaninov is all fine, and everything else is running correctly too. (Currently Liya Petrova's stunning Nielsen/Prokofiev album at 88.2...).
It's perhaps worth adding that the Audirvana+ designer, Damien Plisson, has reportedly gone to some lengths to ensure the stability of streaming/playback...
(Nearly every time I try playback off of the Qobuz website itself, I get a few glitches, even when simply bringing up the booklet note...and it sounds better in Audirvana too, as I reported back in #122...)
Are there any alternatives to Qobuz ? Just took a look at Spotify and came away underwhelmed as nothing classical sensibly as far as I could see. Let's face it, I shouldn't be surprised if the few search criteria are 'Albums' and 'Artists'.
Well of course there is an abundance of classical program on Spotify, although only up to 320kbps. I dunno.... try a browse of Tidal, perhaps...?
Trouble is they're not as classically-focussed as Qobuz.....(quality but not the program width..)...
(As I've often said just get the free trial Qobuz/Audirvana+ and see how you go.....& I just have to add: this Petrova/Odense SO/Kristina Poska album is remarkable...! Sublime...feeling a bit lazy after a very laborious week IRL, but I'll try to do a New Release thing...perhaps...alcohol permitting.. )
All seems to be restored to full working order again I note. Manze's Sea Symphonyhas now appeared in the list of new releases, though alas not in hi res.

Well, I find that Spotify serves me very well. I have Premium, so you don’t put up with the Ads. The classical field is immense and the downloads are very efficient onmy sound system. Very clear sound quality as well.
Don’t cry for me

Of the new Debussy Roth release, only the Prelude is streamable, the other works are only available for purchase.

Jane, thanks to your recommendation some time ago, I too use Audirvana Plus to listen to Qobuz streaming. I've had very few issues, and certainly none recently. My Qobuz downloading membership goes back to 2009, when it was only available in France, and I still use the French version. My Downlad+Streaming subscription began in 2013, is described as Hi-Fi Classique and is limited to CD-quality streaming (€14.99 monthly). I'm delighted with the service, which I access mainly via Audirvana Plus on my iMac through an iFi Nano DAC feeding into B&O headphones. I also listen on my iPad on earphones using the excellent Qobuz app.

Spotify uses .org vorbis, fwiw...it is approx 320 kbps but sounds better to me than both Apple and Amazon. Sometimes it seems very close to Redbook CD. It’s Classical catalog is huge, but Apple interface is easier to navigate
Is Primephonic available on your side of the Pond?
Qobuz seems to have been down yesterday but only for a couple of hours I think. That's the first time such a thing has happened since I've been subscribing to it; otherwise the stream sounds fine (through the Qobuz app and an external D/A converter).
All queries and discussion about technical/audio matters, equipment &c
Just bear in mind that 1) You have to purchase hi-res downloads - albeit sometimes at a generous discount - to be able to stream them in Qobuz Sublime.
2) That they won't sound as good as the same files stored and played natively i.e off of your own drive or music player free of internet connection (Audirvana, JRiver etc...).
3) This applies to Qobuz HiFi lossless streaming versus downloads or CDs too, as I detail in the piece linked to above...
4) Using Qobuz in Audirvana+ works and sounds better than directly off the Qobuz site; user-interface is a lot nicer too.

You bumped up 122 (quoted above) with reference to Audirvana+ and I was thinking of activating a trial of Audirvana. I have the download dmg file - but I've not installed it yet. Does the trial start from the date of download of the dmg, or from the activation date?
Also you seem to mention Audirvana and Audirvana+ - are these diffferent? Lastly you suggest the iinterface is better with Qobuz - so before I get started. is this quite easy to set up to work together - i.e Qobuz and Audirvana (with or without the +)?
Dave, once installed you just need to enter your Qobuz details into Audirvana and you’re up and running - there’s only one version of Audirvana by the way.
There’s also an iPhone/iPad app available that allows you to control what’s playing from where you’re sat. I use that, but it’s not free, so probably best to try Audirvana itself first before considering buying it.

Once you've installed and activated the trial version of Audirvana, get some music downloads into it to make sure it's running OK. Then in Audirvana (there is only one, the "+" was just the later version) hit Audirvana Plus>Preferences>Streaming, and get the trial version of Qobuz HiFi from there....
Will Audirvana also do Tidal? I notice that some material I might be interested in is also on Tidal, supposedly at higher quality (than mp3). If I'm going to experiment/test these systems out I might as well get all the trials lined up. Can one have more than one streaming service linked in?
