    Not downloaded or looked at yet...just a heads-up at this point.

    Um ...

    ""BBC iPlayer Radio is the platform on which we will develop radio stations as fully multimedia brands so that as well as listen, audiences will be able to watch, share and engage with BBC radio," said Mark Friend, controller of multiplatform and interactive for the BBC's Audio & Music division.

    "Our next steps will be to make live radio more interactive, make it easier for people to enjoy the BBC's vast audio archive and strengthen radio's position as the number one place for discovering music in the UK."

    The service will incorporate video material as well as social media content from DJs and programme teams."

    It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

      Does it mean that they are going to delete - this the most natural and pure of services - i.e. iplayer as we know it....

      of course the next step is to give all listeners and all audiences webcams of their own, so they may interact and show themselves coughing and rustling sweet papers....we will get to know what sweets it is they are sucking....

        What a ghastly prospect! I wish the BBC would concentrate on making good programmes.

                Dunno. Mr Bowbrick has given instructions on how to use the new R3 website - that's the Beta-that-was which didn't get a very enthusiastic reception. Now official.

                    havn't you twigged yet - the Apple market is a totally walled garden with expensive paybooths (the android is currently much more open tho Google I suspect would like both your private details and your money) - the BBC is priming itself for privatisation so that the iApp can rapidly be turned from a 'free' one to a subscription basis - the general licence fee model has been totally broken by broadband and those early 20's somethings I know have realised that they don't need a TV licence as most of their viewing is at times of their choice

                          A man (or woman) on a mission must have posted a link on an Android forum as my recent experience with UK-centric websites targeting the general public would back up the BBC's approach - roughly 60% of visitors use a flavour of Windows, 22% use iOS (iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch) and 10% use Mac OS X. Android was 3 or 4% so though they sell plenty of phones, in practice they don't appear to be used widely for Internet access.

                              It's all very confusing - the user interface is not intuitive, and I also don't know why they've delivered this...

                              There seems to be loads of apps (have alook at Tunein & wellnamed Radioplayer) which all fill slight variations on nearly the same theme;
                              then again what does the BBC software supplier ever provide that meets with unanimous praise?

                              Why, me & my grand daughter have a right old moan about Cbeebies sometime...
