Why Don't Many You Tube Links Synchronise?

Why aren't the sound and vision on many You Tube clips synchronised?

Here is an example (or is it just on my computer?):

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

I get this problem on our living room TV, especially on BBC1.

I am not understanding whether mine is a computer problem or a problem with the clips. I assume the latter? It is frequently a problem with TV clips but not all by any means.

It seems fine to me on my computer.

I agree with you, Lat, it is out of sync and I also find it rather irksome. We get it at home when we play a DVD because of the way the TV digital signal is routed through to the TV ...you can buy boxes that you can stick in circuit to cure the problem.

But that isn't what is happening here because the sound is integral with the video. I suspect that the out-of-sync was created when they encoded the video ...and could have been due to a similar scenario to that which we get at home. Chances are that they could have tweaked it but couldn't be bothered.

Begins fine, but becomes out-of-sync after the first "advert break" about 10-12 mins in.

I must say I didn't watch the whole clip. It certainly is fine for the first three minutes or so. Digging around on the net, I discovered it does make a difference which software is used by the uploader to avoid this out-of-sync problem. Film clips which show no signs of any problem before uploading can do so afterwards.

              e.g.

Of course, by that stage, it too late for the viewer to do anything about it.

Hey, maybe picture and voice diverged into separate quantum dimensions.

Thanks for these PJPJ and to everyone else for their contributions. I would say that the first clip is just about in sync and the second isn't so perhaps it is something about Graham Kerr.
