Around a week ago, I noticed that R3 FM reception from Ridge Hill was offset about 4dB to the right (Radios 2 and 4 on the same rig were fine, before you ask...). When it was still offset this morning, I rang the general BBC customer service number. Once I had explained that I was getting otherwise very satisfactory reception despite being out of the service area and given dictation of the fault description, I retired in pessimism - unjustified, as it turned out. By about two o'clock, balance had been restored, indicating not only the customer being listened to, but some pretty smart footwork on the part of the techies responsible. Good show!
