I get increasingly frustrated by big companies such as Apple, Google, Amazon etc. trying to be clever and "help" me.
Also the way that companies have taken over control of various common internet services - such as Youtube.
Yesterday I thought I'd try to do something which might have been useful for me. I wanted to set up a list of Youtube videos to watch in my car.
In order to do that I had to log into Youtube, and I had to reset the password.
To do that on my Apple computer, somehow 2nd factor authorisation got involved, and I changed the Youtube password.
Today I find that my Gmail email is not working as I'd like on the Apple computer. Looks like Apple thinks it needed to hide some data away because of a change
There doesn't seem to be an easy way to update the Google password without involving Apple.
Why these companies have to mess about with data storage in the ways that they do is almost beyond me. I don't think they are doing it to help me.
I can still access Gmail on the computer using a web browser.
