Any recommendations for a keyboard shortcut program?

I used to have a text expander under the old version of OSX but that's stopped working under Catalina. Really handy for having, say, a short cut for ones email address. Any suggestions, please ?

Text expansion in keyboard settings fails in Safari when, for instance, signing up on a new website.

    TIA

I have Windows 10 and used PhraseExpress for a quite a while (also Mac) but recently switched to a new(ish) program which I prefer. It is simple to use and works well for me - called aText, it's free on Windows but looks like $4.99 on Mac - free trial available.

This is quite an interesting thread - currently topical. I know someone who wants to have a shortcut for words so that he doesn't have to keep changing the keyboard and languages for foreign characters - words he uses often, such as "café" for example.

However I think he uses several different OSs - Windows and Linux, so I'm not sure if there's something which would cover both those systems. Apparently he writes code sometimes, so I'm surprised he doesn't just write a program to do that. I wrote such a program many years ago, thinking it would save me typing time, but in the end I abandoned it, as it measurably didn't make much difference. Integrating something like that into an OS might be slightly trickier than the approach I adopted way back then.
