    That's interesting as you just reminded me of a disconnect between a couple of their systems where they told me that my passport number was not a valid one. As we were about to fly off to Japan that did give me cause for concern. The trip went without a hitch fortunately and I do agree with you that the Govt online systmes these days are extremely good and with a consistent look and feel.

      That's simply not true. 2fa relies on SMS messages and so any-old-phone will do. Where they ARE very ignorant is in the assumption that (a) everyone does have a mobile phone and more importantly (b) actually has a signal.

        Not quite. 2fa used to work with my older phone - sometimes - with a code that I could read and type in on a computer. The problem with Amazon is that they send a link, not a code, and I don’t think my aged phone can process that. Maybe I’m wrong.

        I do agree about the other two factors, and where we are we have a very iffy signal.
