    Ecosia

Thought I'd give Ecosia a trial after reading the BBC story. Of course, there are ads so it will be a question of giving up on ads or giving up on trees! :-)

Christian Kroll is the boss of Ecosia, which donates 80% of its profits to tree-planting projects.

I hardly notice any difference. Still studying, but if it's as safe as DuckDuckGo it also has the advantage of doing positive good while doing no harm. I can remember when Google was the New Kid On The Block that I was telling people about You were well ahead of me on this - I'd never heard of it.
