And Jayne Lee Wilson is spot on the money as IIRC she did say that these things (external DACs) require an 'interface' program such as Audirvana.

Just loaded up Audirvana and am now listening to Rheingold on Qobuz on my headphones and using the Sonata. The clarity is stunning.

$64,000 question. Why does Radio 3 streamed work and Qobuz does not ? Are they not both digital?
Fewer Smart things. More smart people.

Glad it is working. Thanks for reporting back.

RE Qobuz does it have it's own output setting? (some apps I know do this in Windows) if so do the obvious and check it is set to the output relating to the Sonata (apologies if this is a case of teaching egg sucking).

Both Qobuz and Audirvana have volume controls, but should override this once plugged into an external DAC and use the "Preferred/Active Audio Device" instead. This is easily checked in Audirvana Preferences under "audio system".

Qobuz's desktop app for Windows works brilliantly, obviating the need for any other software; the interface enables one to control the audio through your DAC directly should you choose. Currently auditioning Savall's recording of Les Nations in 88/24 via an audiolab MDAC+; utterly superb sound quality!
