    BT

    [a] re-set my password on May 7th.
    [b] used it until 11 p.m. last night - May 9th.
[c] used it this a.m. with EXACTLY the same login details at 10 a.m.
    [d] refused entry.
[e] phoned BT Help Centre. They are as non-plussed as I am. No help whatsoever.

What the hell is going on?

But surely you realise that help centres are staffed by badly paid individuals who have little or no power to correct (or even to admit to) corporate mistakes? If you ask to speak to a manager, this is likely to be deemed impossible.
I had an experience with my Halifax credit card, which was being leeched by a rogue organisation on a monthly basis. I was assured that it would be stopped and my money refunded. The opposite was the case, and the deductions continued. They sorted it out after 5 months, but so far I've only had a partial refund.

Excuse me if I am going over things you've already done.

Is this your email password and/or MyBT password? - they should be te same, but don't have to be.

It happens regularly to me with my BTYahoo email password, even if I haven't changed it.

Make sure your internet browser isn't automatically filling in the old password. Go to the browser's preferences and see if the old one is there. Delete it and try to log into your BT account online. If and when it asks you if the browser should fill it out automatically in future, choose yes or no - it's up to you.

Reset the password in your email app preferences by putting it in carefully yourself. Log out of the app. and also restart your computer to be sure. I often only do the former step and wait half an hour - it seems to work.

Once again, this may not be helpful, but it's worth trying.

        Huge thx.
Done a few of those things already - but put down the axe I was thinking of using instead.............

        EXCEPT

every time I click on any of the help facilities i.e. to change such details offered by BT, it reports 'this page is unavailable'.

So what the heck is going on? Via phone been through BT Help Centre - they seem as nonplussed as me.

Every single page I clicked for help under MyBT / BT Email is saying this page cannot be loaded.

TOTALLY floored. So what on earth do I do now?

I'm sorry - this must be really frustrating. I just went to BT online and they say they are very busy. I suspect they actually are and will have staff nos down too. Keep a record of your calls and time down at your expense. If and when you do get back to an operative, pull out the facts and don't hesitate to say that you will take our custom elsewhere. A pallaver, yes, but I have found that this works.

          Take care,

I was doing online banking last week and it was fine until suddenly I kept on getting "this page is unavailable". I was told to clear all browsing history and cookies and that worked.

Definitely worth a try - computers remember incorrect things just as well as correct ones.
If that doesn't work, you may want to try a different computer, if only to eliminate possibilities.

I have had periodic problems with BT email - (btinternet.com) using a desktop PC with Outlook. There are hundreds of complaints on one of the BT forums - with no firm resolution from BT. My experience has been that problems often clears themselves, sometimes after a few hours, but occasionally after a day to so. Also if you have a phone and/or tablet which also connects to email, these can cause some kind of interference in their system. So it may be worth switching them off, and restarting the laptop or PC and see if that helps. Then if you can get that working, bring up each device in turn. If you had it working, and it suddenly failed, my intuition says it will recover itself sometime! Not satisfactory I know! Always a good plan to shut computers down overnight, by the way. I never leave mine on.

None at all, or could you possibly create a new account, and maybe find a way (I'm sure people here will advise if this is possible) to redirect mail sent to your previous address to it?

Do you not have an alternative email facility such as gmail or, better still, gmx?
