    Incomprehensible email!

    I've received a notification email about the Breakfast debate thread but it's a load of gobbledegook:-
    eader.from=for3.org;
    Received-SPF: none (domain of for3.org does not designate permitted sender hosts)
    X-YMailISG: dHBU5HUWLDvFdqNtzqTmx8w56eLOcut9VImbjbn7aBXWao7A

    HFHqXzO6Hv4jNVFBc1UJsz.LMbtuvRlBBqGbl9

    plus lots more in the same vein. Any ideas what it means?

    Probably means you should delete it ASAP.

    Maybe even run a malware scan.

      looks like a base 64 encoded text or address - in linux use base64 -d file in a terminal window but taking your 1st line doesn't return any sensible result - this encoding is often used to carry images or program code via email/html systems that only handle text.

        Er, thanks! Being technologically challenged, I find your reply just as incomprehensible, but thanks anyway!

          SPF is Sender Policy Framework. I think YMailISG is Yahoo Mail Incoming Spam Guard. It looks like part of the raw source headers. Have you subscribed to the Breakfast thread so that you get automatic email notifications?

            means that it is text converted into machine language. Probably due to an incompatability between systems.
            Your email system thinks it is spam and so might contain a virus so has rendered it thus.
