CD stabiliser rings

I was reluctant to try after the comment about the extra weight potentially damaging the drive mechanism.
But I did play the shortest one and it seemed ok!

Think I ought not be a cheapskate though, and that I should splash out for a brand-new copy!
I'm pleased to have had a full refund.
HMV here in Liverpool (where I came for the day) had some 2CD Decca sets on sale at £6.99, but sadly not a copy of that Messiah.

PS: Perhaps it's been deleted. Amazon search just now not too successful, but I will explore more later, as I'm off soon to catch train home!

If they play OK but you don’t want to risk playing regularly why not just do CDR copies?

The rings mean the CDs won't slot into the reader attached to my Mac to put into iTunes!
Ernie stumped up £25 on Monday, so I'll order new when safely back home and not on train WiFi and treat myself.

Too late: just Messiah already ordered!

I remember some comment on the exclusion of the Opus 6 set from the box set when it came out (I already had them, and Opus 3).

And I don't really need any more Blooming Virgins (Athalia).
