    'All 4' password????

BBC i-player...no problem. To watch anything on Channel 4 seems to need a password which we can't get. We just go round in an endless lopp where we're told we're already registered with our email address. Getting a new password just doesn't work. Help...anybody?
And why do they make it so bloody difficult? Don't they want people to watch their programmes???

I agree about it being a pain, though in fact you do also need a password for BBC i-player. That can be really odd to set up, and the instructions don't always make sense. I have set/reset All4 not too long ago, but I'm not sure I can remember exactly how. If it thinks you have an account already you should be able to get a password reset. Do you get the password reset email, or does it disappear? Maybe your email system is filtering out the email.

What about getting another email address in order to kickstart the All4 service with a new user id?

I have no trouble accessing material on All 4. (Perhaps I logged in a long time ago and never logged out?)

That's what I did in the end. I have a couple of spare email addresses that I never (what, never?) use. So I am now logged on with a completely false name, DOB, address, hair colour, shoe-size...and blood pressure off the end of the scale. Thanks for the advice!

            Glad you got that fixed.

Do you only get on demand programmes, or can you get live broadcasts as well?

As I recall, only the BBC is offering live programmes - I think most of the others, ITV, C4,C5 ... anything else ... only offer on demand programmes after the live programme has gone out. TV Player can be used to get round that, but mostly we just use the apps, and TBH we hardly watch anything which isn't on BBC, and watching after the live version isn't normally a great hardship.

I do watch TED (free) sometimes - recommend that. Not sure if there are other app based services really worth bothering with - though this year we subscribe to medici.tv again.

Channel 4 (and presumably associated channels) can indeed be watched live.

That wasn't the case using some apps recently. It may be device dependent. We found that we had to watch Berlin Game after the TV guide time, and sometimes programmes don't appear until some time after the end of the broadcast - and that is a very recent observation. That's using a Roku 4k streaming stick.

I had thought that all the basic channels were available in a similar fashion to live broadcast TV, but looking for info on the web suggests that this hasn't always been the case, and that some are still struggling to catch up - although catch up TV is mostly possible.
