    Jumping through i-player hoops

BBC iplayer via iphone...why so many annoying stages? Let's say you go to Radio 3 schedules and click on today's CotW.
First you get a 'speaker' symbol with a black background which you click. Then you get a ditto with a pink background which you click. Finally there is a mauve background screen upon which a 'play' arrow somewhat falteringly appears. Couldn't we just get there on the first click?

Maybe your iPhone is trying to protect you from hearing Breakfast or (in)Essential Classics ?

Can be worse on a computer with a browser. I just tried, and found I had to "sign in" - again! Can I remember the password?
      Of course not - bonkers!

You don't have to sign in at all to 'get_it' via a Linux or Windows computer. One of life's little ironies.

Is that because you never do, or because you did it once before?

I continue to be very sceptical about the use of passwords for anything but things which really need a secure connection.

I get annoyed with some e-commerce sites that,to my mind, bombard you with too many emails and texts. For example, ordering an imaging drum from HP.

                1) Thank you for your order

                2) Your order is being prepared

                3) Your order is nearly ready

                4) Your order is waiting to be collected

                5) Your order is on its way (text and email)

                6) from DPD ...we have a delivery for you (text and email)

                7) from HP ...DPD will be delivering to you on ... (text and email)

And so it goes on ad nauseam

                  I agree.

If I wanted to annoy in return, I wonder if replying to their actual, attended customer service email address and thanking them for the information might strike a blow?
Not so satisfying as former days - when Readers Digest ignored requests not to send junk mail, I used their reply envelope to send them a further request, attached to a brick.....

Via Royal Mail, or through a window?
