    Windows Security Alert

I've got a problem on my laptop that I can't solve and wonder if anyone can help. I'm clicking on the 'Quick Starter' but an error message box pops up saying 'Windows Security Alert. Your internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened'

I've Googled it and have tried the recommended option of resetting the IE security settings by going to Tools>Internet options>Security>Reset all zones to default level>OK. However, nothing happens. Everything was ok on Sunday and there have been no updates since, so I'm puzzled as to why this has happened. I can't access my photos or downloads (not many of either) and I've not added to them for some considerable time, nor have I changed anything, so there seems no reason for it to misbehave now. How do I put this right?

I'll be at work tomorrow so will revisit here in the evening.
