Or listen to Composer of the Week....
Or check this forum and then buy Hafods latest eagle eyed spot on Amazon.......
Edit...think I’ll buy a watch........I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

It could be argued that one doesn't need the phone, but not if one is a freelance musician who's away from home a lot, I think.

Almost a compressed analogue of the human body itself...

Quad CD67 - One of the finest and most natural-sounding audio products I have heard and a faithful companion for over 20 years. Now 'relegated' to the study and not sure how long it will last.
Beyer DT990 PRO Headphones - Thanks to the continued availability of replacement padded headbands and ear pads, these have given great insight and service over more than 15 years. I have the 250 ohmn model which really benefits being driven from a dedicated headamp ( Arcam rHead & Chord Hugo ) in my case.
Zeiss 7 x 42 Dialyt Binoculars - Long discontinued and old fashioned by today's designs ( rubber eyecups etc ) but I would never part with them, even though my Swarowski 8 x 32's are now my preferred overall pair of bins. The Zeiss are particularly good in woodland and at twilight, where the exceptional light-gathering power comes into its own.
Honourable mention to a brace of HP laptops ( Windows XP/7 ) which have given excellent and dependable service over the last 8 years. Also a wonderful pair of turntables ( Michell Orbe and a Technics Direct Drive ) which reveal the glories of vinyl.Last edited by AmpH; 07-05-18, 19:49.

Better than the old days where you had to try to find a working and clean smelling phone box in, say, rural Dorset, to let folk know you were running late.
But the workplace tyranny of instant contactability on various platforms, and life apparently run for and by email isn't such fun.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

And without humanity, you'd never have the Quad 67 design in the first place, so....
But it has a Philips transport, right? So it should work with Marantz/Philips remotes. And with such designs you can press "eject" on the fascia (in the 67, the drawer open/close flap at immediate right of the drawer), load the disc, then a gentle push on the CD drawer will result in playback. "Eject" again to stop....Last edited by jayne lee wilson; 07-05-18, 23:57.
