    We do use them (DVDs), though we hardly bother with video cassettes now.
    Portable DVD players go for around $20 here. Supermarkets used to sell them at the checkout line

      A former work colleague bought one of the first ones. It cost him £1,000.

        Are there any DVD players which are controllable, and can be linked to software such as Powerpoint?

        Maybe some pro stuff, but pehaps not consumer kit. I suspect pros wouldn't work that way now, anyway.

        That's for showing clips within presentations
