Radio 3 Volume Control - computer interface

Yesterday I thought that R3 was quieter than usual, playing from my MBP via an optical cable to my DAC and amp.

Today I tried again, and I "fixed" the problem. See the image below. The volume level can be set significantly higher now.

I think the interface has changed a bit. There used, IIRC (which may not be the case ...), to be a slider. Now the icon shown in the image simply expands and contracts a bit if one's cursor is moved over the curvy lines in the icon.

Another slight oddity - messages pop us as the cursor is moved over the icon, but it's not possible to grab them to show in images even with ff's method of taking whole screen shots - Cmd + Shift +3. Perhaps that doesn't work with live broadcasts.

Not the same oddity, but on trying to check I came up with another one which I've found lately: whatever route I access it from, the R3 Homepage has the instructions and other titles in a foreign language. Is it that they think we all speak Welsh in Bristol?

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Could that be due to this? --->

Click on that, and you get options to change the language. Maybe you did that sometime.

          Or the Trol Llandogo.

dave2002 - is that a solution to my problem? Or something else?

It's doing it on our homepage now

Just seen your latest - will investigate.

Bingo!!! Must have been a spastic twitch when the cursor happened to be down at the bottom of the page.

Not a very PC reply, but well done!

Spastic is the adjective from spasm, an involuntary muscular twitch. As is spasmodic. It was actually a Mac reply.
