Deleting books from kindle app on iPad

I need to free up some space on my iPad - but there doesn't seem to be a function to delete the books I've already read.

Can anyone help? This seems to be another of those impregnable mysteries in which Apple specialise.

I don't know the answer but I have the same issue. Let us hope that someone knows it

Open up the app and go to the page showing all the books.

After selecting the 'Device' button at the bottom of the screen press and hold on the book you want to delete. A pop up menu will appear, one of the options is 'Remove from Device'.

How it works is nothing to do with Apple, Amazon wrote the app.

A left swipe over a book from the list of books can be used to Archive it. However, as Steve says, holding down over the book to delete gives a pop up menu, including "Delete Permanently". Does Archive release space? Maybe not enough.

My understanding is that the books remain accessible from the Amazon site - so could be downloaded again - though perhaps not if they are rented or "borrowed" from another user - which may be options in some areas.
