Android music player for one track at a time?

Can anyone please suggest an Android music player which will play just one music file from a folder and then stop and wait for another selection to be made? I want to be able to work my way through a number of files but only play each one when I choose to do so.

So far, every player I've investigated seems to think I want to play an entire collection of tracks in one go. Which I don't. Or am I missing something obvious?

    Many thanks.

That is funny because I had a Samsung Phone that did exactly that, and I hated it and switched to Apple. I believe it is the Core Pro, or something like that

nguyen2011 seems to have a couple of answers here - http://forums.androidcentral.com/vir...song-once.html

Thanks for the answers. Richardfinegold, I'm using a Samsung tablet and also a Sony. Maybe I should switch to Apple. It seems astonishing to me that such a simple function - play just one file out of a selection - doesn't seem to be implemented.

Dave2002 I found that forum shortly after I posted here. The workarounds are useful but - as the poster says - inelegant. My own rather Heath Robinsonish (temporary, I hope) solution is to add three seconds of silence to the end of each track to give me time to halt the damn player before it launches into the next one. Ludicrous that it should be necessary.

I don't know whether this link helps, Bert ?

Another option is Music Folder Player Free by ZorillaSoft, not very nice looking, but works. make sure go to settings > behavior > Musician mode (auto pause playback at the beginning of the next track) is checked.
          play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.zorillasoft.musicfolderplayer

Anastasius, belated thanks for that: I'll investigate. The immediate need for a player has now passed (in the end I used VLC, which served well) but alternatives are always welcome.
