    How's this for forward thinking?

Had a few beers last night with an old friend that I'd not seen for a while and drooled over his new iPhone 6s (stunning screen). Turns out he was a very forward thinking smart cookie and many many years ago he opted for a £5 a month, all you can eat data SIM only contract from Virgin. It was a special introductory offer and he's kept it running for all these years.

He replaces his phone (which he buys outright) every 8 years and doing the maths beats comparable Pay-Monthly contracts hands down.
Fewer Smart things. More smart people.

Sounds good, but the 6s is old now and given that the iPhone 7 will be out in September, wouldn’t forward thinking have told him to wait a short while?

The iPhone 6s is a great phone. I’m the only member of my household who doesn’t have one, mine’s a 5. I’m waiting for the 7 to come out.

    Everyone should own an iPhone

It's still cheaper not to have one.
