    Anyone have any answers?
    Good morning!

Have you tried picking off the keys and cleaning what's underneath them? My laptop gets hair, dust and fluff under the keys and occasionally needs attention in this way. My keys click off if removed carefully - so far I've not broken any. Your laptop may have a different sort of k/board, of course in which keys can't be removed for cleaning.

No, not an iPad or other tablet computer, a graphics tablet, use with a pen tool.

Yes, that was what I meant: £49.99, an inexpensive graphics tablet for desktops with limited space … I still don't think new gadgetry renders a mouse dispensable on a desktop, although I don't use one with my MacBook.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Another mouse user here. I tried a Wacom tablet but it didn't suit me. I do very little graphics anyway. SketchUp is my main program for creating woodworking and building drawings and the mouse with a wheel is perfect.

I have a trackpad on an old Macbook in my workshop and hate it. Impossible to move the cursor accurately when editing text.

I've heard that the new iPads make very good drawing tablets, with a suitable stylus. It is perfectly possible to use recent iPads (e.g iPad Pro) as an input to an iMac or similar desktop.

I haven't personal experience of using an iPad with a stylus for graphics - but I have connected iPads to iMacs both wirelessly and with a cable and it is sometimes useful.
