(found as I search for advice on defeating the Epson software inhibiting non Epson cartridges. Oh dear ! - the advice on this page is not to buy any Epson inkjet printer....)
Hope you don't consider my post a jinx.....

I've used the services of the toner supplier cited in my post #15 - can recommend them. Our (new at purchase) Epson inkjet does keep going for colour (infrequent) etc. But for bulk printing (primary string music arrangements etc) I'm using a Samsung mono laser (one of the models previously recommended by U-refilltoner UK, they now recommend a similar but updated model). I'm pleased I found a website which points to models that don't have the interfering manufacturer's software which requires new cartridges and refuse to operate until they have been renewed.

Oops - there was a paper jam, but very hard to find. The device is one of those do it all models - and a receipt (possibly from scanning) had fallen inside - but was not obvious. It wasn't even very obvious when I peered down the back with a light - though I wasn't expecting paper that size to have folded up and worked its way inwards. I was rather expecing fragments of the same kind of paper I had stacked read for printing. So reprieve for Mr Epson this time ....
