I'd have to go onto another machine - possibly into someone else's account to verify for sure whether it might hand out files to anyone who happens to know the download address - or not.
Security by obscurity isn't always a good thing.

My current problem with wetransfer is not that the files don't go across, but that they don't work as intended on receipt - possibly due to lack of knowledge by the end user. More work needed!
Ensuring that the recipient has the correct applications and environment to process (run) certain files may be tricky - e.g some video files. For example, sending a .mov file to someone who chooses to try open it on an iPad may fail, or the recipient may not work out how to use the file. That's a particular issue I'm checking right now and it has happened recently.

[QUOTE=Dave2002;552634]I can see that this can be useful. On the other hand, it does mean that if there is a file which you only want to be seen by the intended recipients that there is a very slight (virtually miniscule) chance that someone else could see it, if they guess or otherwise stumble on the name - such as https://we.tl/wq75LS7esx - hopefully not a real name ....!!! - indeed gives a 404 plus a picture of a dog. This is presumably very low risk, but there is no attempt to verify the recipient. This is security by obscurity - which is known to be not always secure. For most practical purposes this is probably not a problem with wetransfer.

This is no different from someone guessing what your log-in password is on your Mac. You do seem to fuss about the most obscure and irrational security concerns. Perhaps pen and paper might be more suited ?Fewer Smart things. More smart people.
