    This forum on a smartphone

I have just acquitred a new phone and have managed (eventually) to log in here on it.

The mobile phone format doesn't give me new posts. I've now got the version I see on the computer, but it's too small to read.

Any help gratefully received (I think I've been here before...)

That's all very well but it isn't "natural" is it?

I've just edited my post, because I lost the special mobile phone version and reverted to the one I see on the computer without actually trying.

I suppose this phone has a way of enlarging text, I just haven't found it yet.

If it's one of the fruit ones you simply use two fingers spreading out from a point (if you know what I mean?)
And there are things called something like ACCESSIBILITY in the settings where you can set these things as defaults

Yes of course - I'd forgotten that. Thanks.

I'm on shaky ground here, as I haven't a smartphone, and am viewing the mobile version on a desktop. (But I did set up the mobile version back in the mists of time ....)

If using the mobile version (blue text) there might be in the top right-hand corner two icons, one a square containing a grid. If so click on this and you might get a menu which includes 'What's New'.

              Hope this helps!

The same thing as happened to me before has happened again, and I think we have already had this discussion!

I got the mobile version first, but before I had discovered how to move around it, it disappeared of its own accord in favour of the familiar computer version and I never found it again.

I thinkm what I've got now will do!

If I remember correctly, if you get the blue version of the site, scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap on "use the full site" (or similar wording).
                  Pacta sunt servanda !!!

Does it matter what OS is used? I use an an Android Phone and when I log on the view interface is different than my computer or iPad views.

You're quite right. I should use this:

the ostrich v2.0 ? That's just not intuitive to use is it? Loads of problems with upgrade, poor stylus life and support is non-existent.

THIS is what we're all using now...

They require no contract, work during a power cut, never need wi-fi, signal or printer - just an occasional recharge with a bottle of ink.

Accessing this forum might prove problematic though.

I view the Forum perfectly well on my smartphone but find that posting to a thread is a right load of faff and the predictive text drives me insane so I use it just for viewing (mostly). I thoroughly dislike the blue format and always click on 'full site'.

Well, Andrew obviously knows about blue sites, but I don't. I'm always rather puzzled as to why anyone would want to access the forum while they're on the phone
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
