    Google Privacy Reminder

This popped up a few days ago and so far I have been ignoring it, but what is 'other opportunities' I may explore? Do I need to 'agree' with whatever in this reminder to just do the normal search?

    A privacy reminder from Google

Scroll down and click “I agree” when you’re ready to continue to Search, or explore other options on this page.

Google's motto is "Don't be evil". I take that with a very large pinch of salt. That company is really intrusive re privacy. I don't trust them an inch.

I always ignore such pop-ups. They eventually go away.

I have ignored it and not opened it, I'm not interested in talking to Google about privacy, but so far the message hasnt gone away.

Thank you for your reassurance. I’ll continue to ignore it.

I now get this when I try to use Chrome. It doesn't happen with IE. What do people think of this? My instinct is to avoid it, but then I shan't be able to use Chrome. Maybe Google Maps too.

            Before you continue…

To be consistent with data protection laws, we’re asking you to take a moment to review key points of Google’s Privacy Policy. This isn’t about a change that we’ve made – it’s just a chance to review some key points.

We’ll need you to do this in order to continue using Google services.

I got the same message and was forced to agree. Don't suppose it's any big deal.

Well. Given that it isn't a change and we've already been exposed to whatever googlerisks there may be, it does seem to be parallel with many other companies' insistence that you 'Agree' before continuing, otherwise you're blocked. As Bryn's geek suggests, being signed in is a solution (I appear to be permanently signed in - on Firefox - so I've only had the reminder once) or use google.com if it's annoying.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
