    Fritz!Box 7530 router problems

In case you are using one of these - you're a Zen customer, for example - and you've noticed a lot of what looks like line drops recently (Ie lost the internet connection) then it is a known issue affecting all of these routers - regardless of ISP - if the router has been upgraded to version 8.0.

Nor can you revert back to the previous version easily due to another bug in version 8.

AVM (manufacturers of the router) are working on a solution.

Anyone wanting a recovery file then please let me know. It is only on the PC unfortunately.

I have a Fritz!Box 7490 so, on the assumption that it's the software which is the root cause of the problem, will try to avoid upgrades.

I recently got caught out with Apple's "upgrade" (hah!) to its iPad Operating System (iPadOS) from v. 17.7 to 18 where my 2024 iPad went completely dead - "bricked", is, I think, the technical term. Through following advice on a web forum, I managed to resurrect it from the dead and restored the earlier OS. Apple, it seems, knew that the M4 chip in 2024 iPads wasn't at all happy with iPadOS 18 but released it anyway, leading to dead machines. Duh!

    Thanks, Anastasius, for the heads-up.
