I wonder if others have noticed that sometimes SDHC cards are not recognised within Mac OS X. It's sometimes a problem on my MacBook Pro, and I thought I'd fixed it before. However, after a little searching I discovered (again?) that perhaps XQuartz can be used to fix the problem.
I'm still running 10.8.5 Mac OS X.
I downloaded and installed version 2.7.7 and hopefully things are now fixed .... until the next time!
