I'm not sure that I can hear the difference between a crescendo in Berlin and one in VIenna though. Maybe others can.

The one in Vienna is softer, being further away.

Surely it's quieter (volume/amplitude) ? "soft" being a timbral distinction (though in this case it would be both)

432? I can't find out anything about this nonsense. Clues?

I think MrGG is referring to the nonsense that some people spout about A = 440 being very BAD and that we should all use 432Hz, which is harmoniously GOOD.
