I recently decided to get rid of an old leather sofa that was centrally placed so that I could loll on it and enjoy my Meridian surround. The new one arrived yesterday, and sits in the same place. It's bulkier than the last one, and so, you've guessed it, the sound has changed. The acoustic is now a bit too fulsome and a tad hollow in the bass. The system adjustments allow me to compensate for speaker distances and relative levels, and I've found in the past that the settings on the rear speakers are quite tricky to get right, so there's room to experiment.
All this does reveal how changes in room acoustic can be produced by changes in furnishing -- it;s a vey nice new sofa though!
