Sticking just with BBC Sounds - radio - for the moment. I suppose we could put a link on the forum homepage, along with the other 'useful' Radio 3 links. The bookmark would be there whenever you accessed our homepage. Well, of course, I could have done it myself at the time - but didn't. So thank you, Andrew. I'm not sure whether the Listen Live link is still offering HI and LO. Zounds! Would that the young twit on WATO had spoken with Shakespearian directness. In trying to defend Sounds (and the imminent demise of i-player) he must have used the word 'functionality' at least half a dozen times.
If something doesn't have 'funtionality' then it doesn't...er....function, so why it's some sort of bonus I can't imagine. The programme (WATO) was taking a heavily anti-Sounds (and by implication, anti-BBC) stance, reading out criticisms from users and others about its many shortcomings. Worth a listen, if only for amusement.

I heard it at the time of broadcast and thought "what a dolt!" I then quickly checked that 'Sounds" uses the same programme identifier codes and the iPlayer did/does. It does. I had not quite twigged that I had been using the "Sounds" "app" via Windows for some time, and having no problems accessing what I wanted to hear. Yes. Strangely if I Google a BBC programme it comes up with the Sounds format on one of the Ardcarp devices and with the old i-player format on the other. Can't think why. But then I'm mystified by most i-stuff anyway.Comment
