    Change in iPlayer setting?

I don’t seem to to be able to listen to a programme on iPlayer on the programme page. Instead, it takes me to what I guess is iPlayer page with various promotional pictures of no relation to the programme I want to listen to. Is this permanent? Are we expect to listen to the programme without the playlist?

[ed] Ah, the playlist is there but why can't we stay on the page?

    Which programme is it?

Ah, I see what you mean. Really quite annoying. However, you can open the original page in a new tab. after clicking on "Prgramme website". It really is very silly.

Two examples but all programmes do the same. These are the iPlayer pages, i.e. this is where it takes you when you click Listen Now on the programme page.

The best of the BBC, with the latest news and sport headlines, weather, TV & radio highlights and much more from across the whole of BBC Online

Now that I’ve found that it has the playlist it’s not as bad as I first thought but it seems to me rather unnecessary.

Yes. A case of "if it ain't broke, break it".

More marketing. Why do they recommend You and Yours for me?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Part of the process of analysing what you listen to and compiling a profile? Alternatively the nanny state assuming that if you aren't told you won't know what you should be listening to.

I see the page even has ‘coming up next’. Whatever next!

Yes, indeed. And always just before the Proms.
