When they are activated, say with a PM notice, they are readable

When off they are a black inky muddle.

I think it must be your computer, sal. Or browser. Nothing wrong this end.

saly it looks ok on my screen... maybe it's something to do with the size of the fonts etc on your screen?

Sometimes if I adjust the size of the print on my screen, and I go too far in one direction, it jumbles the layout. Might you have done that inadvertently.... ?

PC users here will be able to tell you how to check it - using the 'control' key and the '+' or '-' keys I think...

Don't quite understand this: when they are 'activated' or highlighted by hovering over them they are bright red with white lettering. If not activated or highlighted, they're in black letters...

Yes, the red shows up because only one bit is on at a time. The black is a mess/overlapping.

I think Caliban has hit on it. I have enlarged the print rather a lot. Thanks, will reduce it a bit and see if that corrects it.
