Losing Place when Subscribing to Threads

I did tag this on to another post, but think it more appropriate to raise it properly here.

When you are, say, two pages into What’s New?, and you view a thread, you can, as normal, use the back button to return to your place. However, if while viewing a thread, you decide to subscribe to it, as far as I can see there is no way back to your previous page in What’s New? from the subscription page. You have to start again at page one and remember which page you had got to.

Perhaps only a minor annoyance, but it does slow up trying to smoothly work through What's New?, particularly when catching up after an absence. Thoughts or solutions anyone?

If you're a 'completist', my solution won't suit - but I just scan through What's New?, click on the threads that attract my attention until I'm fed up and forget about anything I've missed. I don't subscribe to anything. Works for me

However, let's see if anyone else is similarly troubled.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I agree. I haven't really been looking at just my subscribed threads as much I thought I would. I tend to use What's New? as my main screen as I don't want to miss any new gems starting up!

But subscribing does have its uses and it would be good if it worked as smoothly as possible.
