    Problems accessing the Forum

In the last 48 hours I've found the Forum very slow in responding. This morning it has been exceptionally slow to load, switch between Fora and threads. My last (longish) post took several minutes to load. This may be a problem with my (Be) broadband, but although loading is generally on the slow side, I'm not getting the same degree of problem on other sites.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Short answer: Yes. Yesterday things were very sluggish between Threads (the "back to" key was much quicker than the "What's New" "button".

I thought it was just my computer!

Yes. Yesterday. Which is probably why (waiting while the little circle went round and round) my posts made even less sense than ever before!

          No, no problems at all.

            Nothing unusual here.

It does seem to be one of those things which happen from time to time but which right themselves on their own. No problem here.

Ferney, Anna - I'm running Safari on a MacBook - are you also on Macs? Just wondering what this is about.

                  Thanks, all, kb

I meant to add to mine that I didn't want to give the impression that this was a regular problem with this website in particular. Is it a combination of connection speed, the amount of traffic on the site at the time, the browser?

(Firefox 10 on iMac, download speed 36.91 Mbps).

Nope, never been able to afford a MacBook, let alone an Ipad! I run on the Pauper's Platform, BT as my ISP and IE7 ..... some of us the poor relations ... we may be in the gutter, but still seeing stars

Yes - but for a week at least until about 48 hours ago. Internet connection was intermittent and particularly prone to cutting out when attempting access to the Forum.

Safari on Macs here, kernel: there was some lag last night, I think, and I commented about it earlier elsewhere: http://www.for3.org/forums/showthrea...082#post130082

                            Thanks for offering the explanation

                            All seems fine now.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

                              No: a Windows laptop.
