By the way, out of curiosity I googled for IE6 as I was interested to see whether there were any good reasons for people continuing to use this old version of IE. Here is what Wikipedia says about IE6:

"This version of Internet Explorer is widely derided for its security issues and lack of support for modern web standards, making frequent appearances in "worst tech products of all time" lists, with some publications labeling it as the "least secure software on the planet."[2] Because a substantial percentage of the web audience still uses the outdated browser, campaigns have been established to encourage users to upgrade to newer versions of Internet Explorer or switch to different browsers. Some websites have dropped support for IE6 entirely, most notable of which is Google dropping support in some of its services."

Having been involved with computers for longer than I want to remember (since about 1965 in fact) I am always rather inclined to stick with what works if it does what I want. Changes can always be fraught, and very often new versions only add bells and whistles that I never have use for, take up many more resources, and tend to be visually even more jazzy than the last. (Windows, for all its virtues, has a lot to answer for in terms of visual clutter. To hijack another thread, it's rather like today's Gramophone compared with that of the '60s and '70s. Look at this screen - it's relatively uncluttered by many of today's standards, but I'm battered by a mass of icons, squares, circles, tick boxes, banners and command buttons, in all the colours of the rainbow, when all I want to do is type into a box.)

So every so often, when others have ironed out the bugs and I am perhaps forced by circumstances, I'll update something, and shh! it might even be IE6 before long, but I'm happy to be the rearguard rather than the early adopter.

Gosh - that sounds like Mr Grumpy when I read it through, but I'll leave it here, rather than the grumpy box, and assure you that I'm the most easy going fellow really, and thanks for the link.
