    sound and video capture

On a couple of recent threads, members have mentioned the software they use if they wish to record (say) a radio or television programme off iPlayer for future listening/viewing. I can't find a thread on here devoted to this - perhaps for good reason - but if it is permissible I would be interested to know what members use.

On my last laptop, using Windows XP, I had MP3MyMP3 for sound - absolutely no problem with this; however, my new laptop (IE7) produced a lot of tiny holes in the sound with the same software. I tried Audacity (version 1.2.6) which I wasn't happy with and now use Nero Wave Editor as part of a package I bought. I'm not 100% happy with this, however.

As far as video goes I'm a complete novice as I hardly watch tv anyway and only occasionally even look at listings. But I'd still be interested to know what others do.
