    Ask FF.

They might well still be in the database.

If you meant they were inadvertently deleted, I'm afraid there is no way to recover them. Are you certain they have gone? It's difficult to delete messages by accident. As far as I know, the only way to delete them is by first checking a small box, then accessing a drop down menu, clicking on the appropriate (delete) radio button and then clicking on Proceed. Is there an easier way?

However, using PMs in this way is unacceptable. Such an abuse should be reported and dealt with by moderation. If you wish to make a complaint to me, please do so and I will follow it up.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thank you, FF. I have located them and see a radio button marked Report. However there is also a pulldown menu that asks me to select 'delete', unapprove, approve and so I'm not sure what step to take after selecting report. Many thanks

I'll investigate. Private messages are private so I can't access them myself. I'm off to catch a train in about an hour (to Proms) so may have to leave it for a couple of days.

Thanks for that. I'll wait as there's no rush....wouldn't want to hit the wrong button!

That is a new low, BTS, but perhaps unsurprising given the mentality of a couple of posters It's one thing coping with such things in the open forum, but quite another receiving such "private" abuse - something which up to now doesn't seem to have reared its ugly head.

But on the bright side, as in the "real world", the vast majority we meet here are decent and courteous and possess integrity.

bws - and I'm sure you won't take the ravings of such scum to heart!

Good for you Simon to show your support. Indeed, it is quite a different matter when you are attacked in privacy. It really is nasty. How very sad that this has happened to this forum. Letโ€™s hope ff will deal with it appropriately.
