iPlayer playing up?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I can't find a better one.

Until recently, if I started to Listen Again to something, and stpped in the middle, when I came back, I coul;d start again from where I left off by simply pressing the play button.

Even more amazing, if I logged off and came back to the programme again even days later, the iPlayer remembered where I'd got to and resumed from that point.

Neither of these things happens any more. If I interrupt my listening for as little as an hour, I have to reload the whole thing again, and it's completely forgotten how much I've already listened to (which is unfortunate if I have as well).

Is it just me?

I don't often listen to iPlayer in this way (I use Squeezebox with the iPlayer plugin) but it probably works by saving cookies on your PC which store the details of what you have listened to and the last position.

Have you changed your browser cookie settings?

It's just worked all right for me. I paused, closed the tab, reopened it and it said Click to Resume, as usual.

But now, when I go to a radio programme from the Radio 3 A-Z page, I get this mean little strip down the edge of my screen instead. This is the one that's causing me problems.

How can I get the other version again?

One of the changes introduced on the new R3 website is the immediate choice of going to the RadioPlayer console directly or via the programme page. As far as I know, all audio links from the station website will go to RadioPlayer. RadioPlayer can be reached via iPlayer's 'pop-out' icon. The iPlayer 'full-page' player can also be used, which is what will be presented from the R3 iPlayer page, as referenced by ff.

The iPlayer player is technically superior to the RadioPlayer, in respect of controllability of the playback.

The BBC has refused to deny it plans to ditch all radio functionality in iPlayer.
