    Diversions thread

    Just a matter of curiosity:
Can we view the Diversions thread?

Yes, you can view all the threads that have been moved to the Diversions Forum. Any newly moved thread will feature as a separate thread in the What's New list and can be clicked on in the usual way to view. Posts are moved when I feel that the number of 'irrelevant' posts is threatening to hijack an otherwise interesting discussion. If a diversion seems to me to be an alternative interesting discussion in its own right, it will be set up as a separate thread in the appropriate forum. If not, it goes to the basement where in most cases it will be allowed to fade away ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Ah, yes, the basement. Can members access the Diversions Forum other than from the link you’ve put in your post? I wouldn’t insist on seeing it but it is nice to know that we can open the door and have a look if we want to (then, I probably won’t even be bothered to think about it).

Incidentally, I like the dark reddish colour (whatever you call it). I think it’s rather classy.

There isn't a permanent link and the forum is not searchable (or viewable) by search engines. Nor by casual guests. If you don't bookmark it, you can search on the word 'diversions' to find it at any time. And,as I mentioned, when any new posts are added the new thread will appear in the What's New thread and you can access it in the usual way.

I call it #811C27 . I'm still poised to change the header to white-on-dark but haven't decided whether to go for #811C27 or #3D0407

Thank you for the information. I think that’s more than enough to satisfy the curiosity of this non technophile cat.

Oh… I was hoping to hear a name like a glass of vintage wine reflecting the sun setting into the English Channel… or something of that sort. Still, RV and BWV are good enough for us.

I don't think I can set a separate colour for the Diversions Forum!

Having had a look, as regards #811C27 versus #3D0407 I would go for the first one. But that's just my opinion.

No joke which needs explaining is funny; but what i meant was to pun on the fact that the Diversions messages had now become marooned.

                  No?

                  Oh well.........

Er, um. Yep, I did get that. That's why I thought you were suggesting that they should be a 'maroon' colour. But if they were, everything else would have to be 'maroon' too which would rather obscure the point. I thought. Um ... heh, heh. Eh?

I've already redone the header logo in #811C27 - so watch that space ... I tried the darker colour last night and hastily removed it because it looked too ... ominous, lowering (as rhyming with 'flowering' and Rich. III 'all the clouds that lowered upon our house...' - hear a Bristolian saying that). #811C27 is the same colour as the current navbar and footer.

I know #811C27 is one and the same and the second was really gloomy but have now got the giggles thinking of you stomping around reciting Richard III in a Brizzle accent
