Does the forum have an 'Ignore' function@

On some message boards, it's possible to add names of people one consistently fails to get on with and their posts are not visible unless one chooses to see them? Though one will see any quotes from their post in other people's postings.

I have used the function for a few people (in a board which has thousands of members) and find the particular board a very much more congenial place to be.

Ii isn't a problem here, at all, but I just wonder if it's an option? There is mention of fractiousness on the R3 messageboards in the past and this may be a helpful solution to avoiding such a thing in future. People can choose or be encouraged to simply not see posts they're commonly likely to find antagonising.

You have to enable the special "Nutwood advanced" feature to get this to work
but it only works on a 1950's machine like this one

(careful observers might recognise someone they know in this photo !)

      Yes, it does.

You can access it via your General Settings.

      (My Account. Edit Ignore List)
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

On the basis that a) we are all supposedly consenting adults, but b) some are more adult than others, and c) some shouldn't really be allowed on here without asking their Mum's permission if they can go out to play in the street with the rough boys, can we hopefully drop the Nutwood references? It's incredibly tiresome, doncha know?

Thanks, ff. I have a bit of a short fuse and I think this may be helpful.

I'm going to apply to the Guinness Book of Records to see if we are the first forum worldwide to censor the word iiiiiii.

Someone from the press must be hacking my account

So there are words we can't write without them getting replaced then !

That's not one of them. Please don't go through your complete repertoire

I would uphold Anna's plea earlier.

                              It was only a joke
and people really don't have to take any notice
there are things that I might find "tiresome" but its fine for people to have their little quirks ! (why oh why oh why is RVW ignored by the BBC etc etc etc )
